Interests

We focus on gospel hymns and patriotic music primarily in the barbershop style. We have a fairly wide repertoire we're working from and will focus our efforts for any given performance to meet the needs of the audience. Our repertoire comes mostly from the Good News Quartet but also includes a number of other great arrangements and songs.

The AM/FM Barbershop Gospel Ministry got its start in late August, 2004. After two years of prayer, John Hosie talked with Doug Dean and others about starting the group. John and Doug were the only men to come to the first rehearsal on August 26, 2004. It was a little rough doing four part harmony with only two voices. But they rehearsed just the same. The next week, John and Doug were joined by two other men, and the group continued from there.

Today's group has a solid core of 10 men. But we're always willing to have others join us. If you're intersted, send an email to see about singing with us.

AM/FM's stated mission is to sing the Gospel of Jesus Christ wherever we are able. Singing the Gospel is a privilege.

Our first focus is singing to patients in nursing homes. We sing and minister as we can to their spiritual needs.

We are honored also to serve the US military. Who needs the Lord more than those who go into harm's way on our behalf? What better way to spread the Word than in song?

Country Meadows Retirement Community, Frederick, MD Tuesday, October 7 - 7:00 PM Singing for residents at Country Meadows. Will be a gospel-focused event. We do not know if this is considered private, or if they will allow visitors. There is limited seating.

Private Dinner in Gaithersburg - Saturday, October 11, 5-6PM This will be a private dinner party in Gaithersburg. 5:00 PM.

Gaithersburg Church of the Nazarene - Sunday, November 16, 2008 Services at 9:00 and 10:45 Pastors Ben and Kelly Spitler regularly host our rehearsals at their church. We love to sing there whenever invited. We will be singing "Victory in Jesus".

Pentagon Chapel Caroling - Tuesday, December 16, 2008, 12:30 We're honored to be able to sing Christmas carols again at the Pentagon Chapel. Serving those who serve us is an honor.

Christmas Caroling at Montgomery Village Nursing Home in Gaithersburg with Church of the Nazarene Sunday December 21, 2008 This is one of the scheduled Christmas ministry events for December.
